Unedited comments from Waad, who purchased a couple of 4" Hunters with D2 blades.  Thanks for your comments, Waad!
You wanted it.
  1) the edge of the knife is holding very well. can not wait to try the 154.
  2) the lanyard hole needs to be chamfered wearing on the rope. We used the lanyard to hang the knife when drying.
  3) The sheath: the belt loop is to big for a 1.5 inch belt it wants to wiggle around to much.
These are the suggestions we have come up with.
Every one that has tried your knives really liked them! Other than those suggestion they were perfect.
we used them on a very large red stag. first was the gutting. i split the pelvic with the knife and a small log 5 inches in diameter (i understand the way you explained it. i just wanted to abuse the knife now so we can find its limitations ) .
then the skinning: skinned the whole deer and removed the head and neck for mounting.
removed the back straps (very large) and the front legs and deboned them before we felt any wear on the blade. You have to understand that this is a 500 lbs PLUS animal. was then quartered, all done with just one knife. Have not tried to sharpen it yet.
I say well done sir. American pride.
Ps. Some jedi ran over the knife with the quad. can't even tell.
take care
